Lifecasting is the process of creating a 3D replica of a part of the human body using specialised moulding and casting skills resulting in a very high level of detail, including fingerprints, moles, dimples, folds, wrinkles, etc. A lifecast can be made from head to toe or anywhere in between, either with or without clothing. In fact, it is possible to copy virtually any part of the body. The most common lifecast sculptures are of hands, feet, faces, torsos, pregnant bellies, breasts, etc.
At Lifecasting India we are taking the concept beyond just lifecasting. Since it is essentially an expression of love for oneself or one’s loved ones, we are calling the process lovecasting.
For the moment we are offering lovecasts of hands and feet, solo or for groups, for adults as well and infants. And we we will cast the paws of your furry friends. Additionally, we are also offering single hand casts holding certain personal objects. For instance, a sports lover holding a golf ball, or a cricket ball, or a tennis ball, or a ping pong ball, or a baseball, etc. An author holding a pen. An artist holding a brush.
There are many ways through which different artists lifecast, but generally the process is as follows:
(1) discussing the pose,
(2) preparing for the moulding,
(3) mould application,
(4) curing and demoulding,
(6) demoulding the cast, and
(7) sanding, painting and finishing.
We will also film the process so that you not only have a video memory of your casting, but also something you can share in your social network.
If you want to cast your memories, head over to Lifecasting India now by booking an appointment.
